Well… today was QUITE the day of sports news.

Ray Rice was suspended for two games back in March for punching his then-fiance/now-wife Janay Palmer in an elevator at a casino in Atlantic City, NJ. There was surveilance footage of Rice dragging an unconscious Palmer out of an elevator. That footage was viewed by lawyers and NFL brass, as well as the general population thanks to TMZ. Bills Run Over Bears in Overtime. Chicago Off to a Disappointing 0-1 Start

Well… that is not the kind of start the Chicago Bears were looking for. Jay Cutler and company are under their second year of the Marc Trestman system, and it seemed to be firing on all cylinders in the beginning of the game. After an early stop from the defense, which looked solid in the first series, and a big play from Alshon Jeffery, Cutler hit Marty Bennett for a touchdown to give the Bears an early 7-0 lead. Are you ready for some Chicago football? I sure am.

Well, folks, the football season is starting tonight. I, for one, could not be more excited. Whether it’s my avid love for all sports or my sad obsession with fantasy sports, football season is one of my favorites. I have high hopes for the Chicago Bears this season. They have made DRASTIC improvements to their defense by signing Houston, Jared Allen, and drafting some very athletic high-upside defenders like Fuller, Ferguson, and Sutton. If Mel Tucker can pull his head out of his ass, this team has a legitimate shot at taking down Green Bay and winning the North (I don’t include Detroit in the mix because I hate all things Detroit). Even if the Bears do not win the North, I still see them making it into the Wild Card.
